ContactDeck (the “App”) is an iOS contact-management tool. We respect your privacy and process data only to provide features you request.
1. Data we access
When you choose to sign in with and authorize a Google Account, the App may access:
- Basic Google Account information, such as your name and email address, to display your signed-in status.
- Google contacts data, including names, nicknames, phone numbers, email addresses, postal addresses, organizations, birthdays, events, URLs, relationships, notes, custom fields, photos, and contact metadata.
- Contact groups and labels, including their names, memberships, and member counts.
2. How we use data
Google user data is used only to:
- Display, search, and organize your Google contacts.
- Create, update, or delete contacts and contact photos when you request those actions.
- Create, rename, delete, or modify contact labels when you request those actions.
- Maintain sign-in state and perform synchronization that you initiate.
3. Data storage and transfer
The App connects directly from your device to the Google People API. The current version does not send or store your Google contacts data on a developer-operated backend server.
Contact data is loaded into memory while the App is running so it can be displayed and used for actions you request. App preferences, such as appearance and language, are stored on your device. Google Sign-In components may securely retain authorization information on your device to restore your session.
4. Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or use your Google user data for advertising, and we do not share contact data with third parties. Data is transferred only between your device and Google services to provide actions you request, unless disclosure is required by law.
5. Retention and deletion
Because ContactDeck does not operate a backend server that stores contacts, we do not retain your contacts on our servers. You can:
- Select “Disconnect” in the App’s settings to revoke ContactDeck’s Google Account authorization.
- Revoke access from the third-party connections area of your Google Account.
- Delete the App to remove its preferences and related local data from your device.
Deleting or editing a contact inside the App changes the corresponding contact in your Google Account.
6. Security
The App uses Google OAuth 2.0 and Google Sign-In for authorization and calls Google APIs over encrypted HTTPS connections. We request only the access needed for the App’s core contact-management features.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when features, data practices, or applicable requirements change. The updated date will appear at the top of this page.
8. Contact us
For questions about this policy, data use, or deletion, contact us through the ContactDeck support page. Do not post personal contact data or other sensitive information in a public issue.
